Smart glass

by Ar. Pankaj Lad

Smart glass is the common term used to describe electronically switchable glasses. A small electrical flow adjusts the opacity of the glass pane so that one can command the transparency of the facade. This can be done via a wall switch, light sensors, movement sensors, or remote controller.
These kinds of glasses provide you with the advantage of controlling privacy & the amount of light that is passed into the insides of a building. As you know, allowing more natural light into the building reduces heating requirements in winter, and allowing less light into the building in summer reduces glare as well as cooling costs. Thus, apart from reducing energy usage, the switchable glass provides an elegant solution to privacy control. Intuitive systems can also be installed to respond to light levels automatically, or the room occupant can control individual installations.
